Cairo Jazz Festival 2017

The 9th Cairo Jazz Festival was held from 28 to 30 September 2017 on the American University in Cairo's Tahrir Square campus in the heart of downtown. Musicians from nine countries took part, among them Egypt, Denmark, Austria, the Netherlands, Portugal, Panama, Japan and the Czech Republic. The opening night belonged to the Cairo Big Band Society, the Danish group Mathias Heise Quadrillion and the Egyptian fusion band Eftekasat, rounded off by a surprise appearance from Massar Egbari. Alongside the concerts, the Jazzinino programme offered workshops and performances for children.
