Goose 50%Sixth album BIG MODERN! (June 2026) plus back-to-back summer and fall tours keep the band in the market straight through the 2027 booking window; Goose are the leading act of the jam scene that forms Bonnaroo's core, which matters for a 25th edition. My Morning Jacket 45%The band has already curated and booked One Big Holiday for January 2027, so an active 2027 live year is documented; they are among Bonnaroo's most frequent returning acts, exactly the profile an anniversary edition draws on. Khruangbin 36%Last on the farm in 2024; since the intimate anniversary club run of late 2025 there has been no large US cycle, so the rotation window is open again without any competing 2027 routing. Fred again.. 34%The USB002 rollout with its city-by-city short-format shows keeps him permanently on the road, and he already played Manchester in 2024, which puts 2027 squarely in his rotation slot. Gracie Abrams 32%The 64-date Look at My Life arena tour for the album Daughter from Hell ends on 28 May 2027 in Barcelona, leaving the American summer free — and she has never played Bonnaroo, so there is no saturation. Dave Matthews Band 30%The band toured continuously through 2026 into a fall run ending at Madison Square Garden, and their manager Coran Capshaw is a co-owner of Bonnaroo — an anniversary edition is the obvious occasion for that connection. Doja Cat 28%Her North American arena tour with Latto runs through the fall of 2026, which frees the 2027 festival window; she has never played Bonnaroo, and the festival regularly places one big rap or pop headliner opposite the jam programme. Probabilities from our model — routing patterns, booking signals and history. Not an announcement.
No. In August 2026 the organisers announced that Bonnaroo will take a year off in 2027. After storms in two consecutive years, including heavy rain on the Sunday of the 2026 festival, they said The Farm in Manchester, Tennessee – particularly the main venue – needs time to rest and recover. The organisers describe it as a break, not the end of the festival; a date for the return had not been announced at the time of writing.
Bonnaroo is held on a 700-acre farm – known to fans as “The Farm” – in Manchester, Tennessee, where the festival began in 2002. It was conceived as a camping festival: besides the central festival area, called Centeroo, the site has campgrounds for tents and recreational vehicles.
Yes, three times. The 2020 edition was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021 the festival was called off after flooding from Hurricane Ida left the grounds too waterlogged for vehicles to drive in or park safely. In 2025 it opened on Thursday but was cancelled the following day because of heavy rain and a forecast of further steady precipitation.
The name comes from “Desitively Bonnaroo”, a 1974 album by New Orleans musician Dr. John. “Bonnaroo” is Louisiana slang for having a really good time; the founders chose it for that meaning and as a tribute to the musical tradition of Louisiana.
